Completed at the Y 12/3. Intermediate scale so 250, 155, 100 lbs.

bench would have been really tough as rxd. Only one broken set and it was on round 8 or 9 of dead’s due to grip.

155 close grip bench-broke the 7-6-5-4

135 power clean singles


Definitely a cardio effort except for the bench press, where I caught my breath due to needing rest. Failed rep 4 of the 4’s, and had to do the roll of shame and rerack.


Bench has gone downhill big time, otherwise I probably would’ve PR’d today.


Warmed up with 1km row+500m ski erg+30 reps bench press empty bar (10close, 10 wide, 10 regular)


Build up sets of 8-6-4

Probably went a bit too heavy given my lack of fitness these days. Couple that with the kids and this took me over 2 hours.

Weight at 170# = DL 255#, Bench Press 170#, Clean 130#...felt good to push through some weight.

Performed at 335, 225 & 170lbs with steel plates

Was having way too much difficulty keeping pace today. Had to take a break so time doesn't mean much but was about 35min of moving time 😬. Dropped the bench press a few times in middle sets and had to reset it myself.

Yikes! Only 2 bars and not enough plates in my garage, so a ton of time loading and unloading bars. It was helpful in the first few sets to give a little rest, but after that I spent way more time loading/unloading than working. All reps unbroken at least. Can't remember the last time I did Linda, but I'm sure it hurt as much then as it does now.

Champions Club Scaling Notes


RANT

Any time girls workouts get discussed, especially which are the worst, I always forget about this one. Elizabeth, to me, is the peak miserable and a definite 10. Linda... man... it's just a different kind of torture. A complete body shutdown is the dose. Mad respect to people who can do this as rx'd and maintain 1) form and 2) intensity.

Globo WOD: as this requires so much equipment I will provide subs for each movement. 1. Deadlifts: heavy dumbbell deadlifts (double reps if using lighter dumbbells), kb deadlifts or heavy tire flips, or strict pullups. Try to keep this movement as Rxed if possible. 2. Bench press: ring /TRX/ weighted bar dips, push press (if no bench is available), dumbbell bench press at 75% bodyweight total, or HSPU. 3. Cleans: dumbbell cleans at 50% bodyweight total, sandbag cleans. Try to set this up the best based on your Globo or garage setup. Each person's gym and equipment situation will be different so do the best you can here. If you are doing this in a class doing it as a team wod may be the appropriate solution.


Bodyweight sub: 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps strict pullups, strict ring dips or HSPU, and pistols (alternating, double reps) or Bulgarian split squats each leg.

Anyone reading this lacking the benefit of proper coaching should be aware that you can tie your back into knots doing it wrong by being forward onto your toes. That happened to me until a coach said "stay on your heals". Fixed, instantly. Now I'm happily at 2x bodyweight, and it feels easy. All those deadlifts in the open were a breeze.

Assuming equipment is an issue I would sub/scale to dumbbell bench press. I have used plyo box as bench. Not ideal but better than floor for me. You can probably use kbells instead of db's too. If that fails go to pushups. If you can't weight them, try clapping push ups for extra intensity.
