Last-Chance Qualifier Event 3
For time:

100 burpees

For each rep, jump and touch a target 12 inches above your reach.

Scaling:
Switch this to a time-priority workout and complete as many reps as possible in 7 minutes — the time cap for Last-Chance competitors. Newer athletes can eliminate the need to touch a target.

Intermediate Option:
Complete as many burpees as possible in 7 minutes.

For each rep, jump and touch a target 12 inches above your reach.

Beginner Option:
Complete as many burpees as possible in 7 minutes.

Wow, this is my work out! for the last 7 years I've been attempting to do 100 burpees and tracking how my time has improved. Unfortunately I've always just done these with a jump just high enough to get a piece of paper to slide under your feet. I'm not sure how much extra time this would add. I've had a back injury for the last month, so can't attempt any burpees.

But my best time ever was 3:48. Which I thought was superhuman, until I saw a Russian on youtube manage 2:58!!

7 minutes = 65 burpees


Way slow. Did not feel slow -- expected closer to 80. I have never moved very fast on burpees, always too focused on technique.

MAIN DECISION

Am I actually going to do 100 burpees for time?


WORKOUT THEMES

A simple test anyone can do anywhere. Changing orientation, jumping, pushing, global extension/flexion, accuracy.


TECHNIQUE SCALE

Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of:

8 burpees

16 box jumps (step down)


CONSISTENCY SCALE

As is.


INTENSITY SCALE

You have 20 minutes to complete 100 burpees as fast as you can. Split up sets however you want and rest as needed.


INJURY SCALE

Upper-body - max distance run in 7 minutes

Lower-body - AMRAP in 15 minutes of: 10 push-ups, 15 toes to bar
