Everything felt hard today. Ohwl got easier then got harder again. Same with pull-ups. Burpees were just a slog today. Someone turned up gravity.

first time doing C2B after the supraspinatua injury. Don’t know if it was the OHS or the C2B but it was insanely painful at night and day after.

Following the WORKOUT TIPS video (great job, thanks a lot 🙏), replaced pull-ups with SDLHP.

Loved this combo, but OH WL with 2 DBs are hard... 😫 first 4 rounds unbroken, but it was all downhill from there.

Thought I could easily accomplish 7 rounds, but underestimated the effort... 🙄 Still, completed round 7, for good measure.

2 km run as warm-up.

Scaled with 25# lunges, that’s the heaviest I have.

I’m pretty happy with that. My second half was a little slower than my first. But other than that, I’m happy with my performance.

I don't have data from what I did in 2016, but this was probably better. Didn't want to take my bar out in the rain so had to do the lunges in the garage which added some time. Could have done lunge steps but wanted to keep the walking component.

I felt that! I had about a few seconds left & was like “nah!” ...

My shoulders were done!

Scaled down: two 30# DBs!

4.5 rounds total

I did 🦋 C2B PU (b/c I still suck at them) got 8 UB C2B in a smooth, effortless fashion. A small win, but a WIN nonetheless!

6 rounds even, had about 15 sec left but couldn’t breathe enough to pick up the bar. This was last of 5 wods this week, and I definitely felt it...Last was 6+25’+7. Used 65 for OH WL both times.

Not as good as 2016, but better than my last retest in 2018.


Lunges were slow. Doing them on concreate I did not let me knee touch the ground. Benefit, was a shorter range of motion, downside, I was slower because I was making sure I didn't hit my knee. Testing in warm ups the concrete cut my knee so that was going to be a no-go.


C2Bs felt okay


Over all happy with the work out, maybe could have pushed a bit harder if I could have lunged faster, such is life.

Nothing to rant about


WHAT ABOUT THE MOVEMENTS

Overhead lunge - squatting with unilateral loading, emphasis on upright torso and challenging midline

Burpee - changing orientation, emphasis on jumping and landing positions

Pull-up - overhead pulling with a standard that makes it a little more difficult (more ROM in this case)


MAIN DECISION

Test or train?


TECHNIQUE SCALE

AMRAP in 20 minutes of:

16 overhead lunges (or regular lunges)

16 kips

8 burpees


CONSISTENCY SCALE

AMRAP in 20 minutes of:

16 overhead lunges

8 burpees

8 strict pull-ups


INTENSITY SCALE

As is; overhead squat if the lunges can't happen for whatever reason


INJURY SCALE

Upper-body - 20 minutes, 20 jumping lunges, 10 GHD sit-ups

Lower-body - 20 minutes, 10 knees to elbows, 10 pull-ups, 10 push-ups
