14:30 -377 steps. I think I’ve gone under 10 minutes on this but with crazy arm swinging lunges and at a rubberized track where I didn’t have to worry about banging a knee. I was also at least 20lbs lighter. Did not use arm momentum here and did it as 200m out and back on my street. This has always crippled me for a week but I was never consistent enough with CrossFit back then. Hoping that 33 months of 5x a week has fixed that...
Got some looks from the neighbors! Legs definitely don’t feel as destroyed as they did last time I did this. Still able to go up and down stairs and sit down normally, lol.

I would love to see this Slippery Slope Fallacy explained side-by-side with the Broke Window social theory. Both seem to cover the same topic, but diverge widely and come to different conclusions. They are accidentally referenced as usable data in the argument for the other's case often in my work (military). The snake begins to eat it's own tail...

Thanks for posting. I think most laws that infringe on the second amendment are going to be slippery slope cases. NY against large sodas is one of many examples of legislation attempting to curb overconsumption of refined carbohydrates. Minneapolis banning new drive-throughs and the UK pushing to prohibit snacking on public transportation are also slippery slopes that, hopefully, will spur some long-term health improvements despite restrictions on individuals’ freedom.

Commented on: Is Alzheimer’s Disease a Type 3 Diabetes? A Critical Appraisal
I remember back in the day when it was thought that aluminum in cookware and antiperspirants was the causative agent of Alzheimer’s disease. It doesn’t seem like treatment outcomes have improved greatly since then, so it’s good to see new ideas are being considered.
That scientists are considering the “type 3 diabetes” moniker signals a pretty major shift in thinking on the disease. Their proposed mechanism is compelling- that insulin resistance of the blood brain barrier could lead to hypometabolism and then cell damage. One interesting thing to me is that relatively large neurons, which are the most metabolically active are also most impaired by Alzheimer’s.
Getting off the carbs and the couch seems likely to hold more promise than doing crossword puzzles and foregoing deodorant.

A really good way to do this is in 50m increments on the grass so that you don't destroy your knees. Do 50 m, shake it out and repeat 7 more times. I did this and PR by about 4 mins.

As Rx.
First time trying this one out. I did 100 burpee jumping pull ups to bar over 1' above head yesterday so I went with this single modality longer WOD. I have never tried it so I went out slow and steady.
Great workout. Fun and mental grinder. Gotta just keep on steppin.
I have an indoor track 100m around my gym so perfect fit.
I completed it 15:30. Slower than I wanted but ok I guess.
I did the 100m splits in:
3:20
4:02
4:12
3:56
I did 3 rounds of 15 ab wheel roll outs nice and long and slow and a post wod stretch.
Run in the woods with the dog at lunch today for about 5k also.
Good birthday workout.

Do you do anything to supplement your training? Or just hit the .com workout hard? Scores are always impressive!
This is how we confirm to your neighbors that you are somewhat uncommon --or in Chicagoan f#@ng crazy in the best way. Today we go around the block lunging. Find a good podcast, get some knee sleeves, and grind. This is a classic CrossFit workout. It has been a while since the last time we saw it, but we have seen it a few times. The number of steps it will take you varies greatly depending on your anatomy. For the sake of reference, think about 350 steps total. You don't need me to tell you that this will burn. You know it. That is precisely the stimulus we want: a massive dose of this movement pattern that will challenge your stamina. Now, it is essential to specify what we mean by a massive dose. First, we want you to have a productive week of training. If you are so sore from this workout, that it is hard to move for the next five days, that is way too much optimal training missed. So even if you could this RX, be open to not do it. A good dose of excellent lunges plus a week of optimal training will make you fitter. A dose that's too big for you and a week of mediocre training will not make you fitter, even though you did it RX. Today is an excellent day to scale by time. Fifteen minutes of walking lunges with a decent cadence (20-25 steps per minute) will do the trick. Athletes for whom the range of motion of the lunge is not quite there yet can aid with a PVC (yes, a waling stick!) Find that full depth and let it burn!
OPTION 1
For distance:
15:00 walking lunges

Champions Club Scaling Notes
RANT
Single modality days are often about stamina, but as with anything you'll notice how often the 10 general skills blur and blend together. For some reason I start breathing heavy every time my arms or legs feel extreme fatigue.
PURPOSE
Ensure that there will be zero chance for a pr in any of the following days workouts
NEW TO CROSSFIT SCALE
AMRAP in 12 minutes of:
200m run
20 lunges
TRAINING SCALE
As is
PRACTICE SCALE
Pick one high(ish)-skill thing you think you have down pretty well and practice it immediately after you finish the lunges. Go for however long the lunges took. Doing a skill when fresh is a good way to learn something now, adding some kind of fatigue is a good way to challenge something you're already good at.
INJURY SCALE
Pick one movement you can complete at as full of a range of motion as possible. Do 4 sets of max reps with full recovery between.
WARMUP
Do one lunge really quick then realize you've already started so might as well just keep going. Cool down is the really important thing here.
