For time:

3 rope climbs to 15 feet

Then, 2 rounds of:
20 push jerks
10 ring dips
2 rope climbs to 15 feet

Then, 3 rounds of:

5 ring dips
1 rope climb to 15 feet

Scaling:
In today’s workout, be sure to pay attention to the scheme of each triplet. Rounds are increasing and reps are decreasing throughout each section. The loading of the barbell should allow you to do at least 10 reps unbroken every time you pick it up. For the ring dips and rope climbs, manage your reps, and don’t push to failure. Consider breaking the ring dips into sets of 5 to minimize fatigue and keep pushing forward through the workout.

Spicy!  Did jerks 20-10 / 12-8 / 12-8 / 10 / 6-3-1.  Ring dips generally in sets of 3-5.  Rope climbs felt pretty good, considering I haven’t done them for several months.  Elbow felt fine during as well.  Dang, that is a lot of jerks.

Hey Gus, I'm not here to correct anything, I just hope this comes as a helpful tip. Looking at your front rack position i can tell you've worked out most of your life and now have some mobility issues in the front rack. I would suggest foam rolling your lats and then doing a banded front rack stretch before overhead lifts and front squats. Again, i hope this doesnt come across as correcting you. Nice job on thhe workoout, my friend.

Modified, on vacation so equipment is limited. Mykonos. Neighboring hotel gym has a barbell and they’re cool with sharing.


Same rep scheme:

Barbell @ 50kg

Dumbbell bench press (in lieu of ring dips) @ 20kg

Dumbbell bent over rows (7 reps for every 1 rope climb) @ 20kg

Joined my crew for “Nate” the day this was posted: 10+1 as rx’d.

I went unbroken on muscle ups and did at least 5 rounds unbroken on hspu’s. Needed to pace at 1 round every 2 minutes to not die metabolically and by the ten minute mark I was still dreading the next 10! Kb swing broken into 2 sets each round simply to not redline. Work capacity not great right now and I hadn’t really eaten. Still about as “fun” as I remember it being 10 years ago…

Scales/subs: 75# BB, Weighted Bar Dips (15#), 3 L-sit pull-ups per climb. Reps and rep scheme otherwise Rx.

Considered doing split jerk or just push press as push jerks tend to aggravate the knees more, but stuck with the PJ after doing reps in warmup with no ill effect. It was probably the low weight that did the trick.

Globo wod: sub for rope climbs are 3 towel pullups or l-sit pullups per rope climb. Sub TRX dips, weighted bar dips 15/20lb dumbbell or 2 to 1 bar dips for ring dips. Dumbbell sub 30/45lb dumbbells for push jerks (intermediate 25/35lb, beginner 15/20lb dumbbells).
