WarmedUp with BoxStepUps. Legs felt not heavy after a good leg day yesterday. Box Jumps were not hard and consistent. Jumps used to gas me, but not so much lately😊. Clean&Jerks gassed me. Broke up the first set into doubles and the rest tripled. This workout was heavier then intermediate grace (115lbs~5min). A little too much time starting at bar, but no redlining, but close. Maybe will have to try Rx grace soon.


All in all, have had back to back amazing lift sessions at the college gym. I usually have the box room to myself. Yesterday was pull and legs. Today was bench with clean and jerk. I'll have to do some pushups for volume later this week to get more push volume. Feeling great and love back at the college gym.

Quick question. If you don’t do the scheduled workout why do you post it here?? Are you trying to give ideas or what. Why not do the posted workout and your additives. But not doing the workout gives you 0 pts.

Some folks use the comments to track their work to keep themselves honest (a.k.a. their whiteboard), regardless of what they do for a workout. Some want to share what they did different in case someone else may have been looking to do something different but was having trouble deciding on what. Some may be doing some combination thereof. Some may just want to share because it makes them feel more connected to the CF community. Some may have other intentions. Regardless of the why, there is no harm in posting what you did for a workout that day. In fact, it may just help someone else and/or yourself.

Tks Mike. About 30 min into the discussion. Coach still has such a fresh and creative perspective and way of explaining exercise and movement. I haven’t gotten to the part about his fall from and sale of CF, but it would be good if at some point there could be a rapprochement.

I done it in 14 minutes rarely new to CrossFit never done a proper class just what I went through during my time as a clearance diver in the NZ navy my PTI was a huge cross fit man


would be keen to do some technique work to marster the movements

Globo wod: box jumps sub bench jumps or jumps to a platform. If you don't have access to a 24"/30" platform do bench jump overs or 28"/36" broad jumps. For Clean and jerk if you are using iron plates today use a weight that you can touch and go fresh for at least 8 reps. Dumbbells sub dumbbell Clean and jerks 50/70lbs. Men if at a hotel gym with only 50lb dumbbells increase Clean and jerk reps to 21-15-9 reps. (Intermediate dumbbell weights 35/50lb, scaled 15/20lb)

Do I understand it correctly that you alternate between the movements?

So you would do 21 box jumps followed by 12 C&J, then back to 15 box jumps, etc.?

Weightlifting and... gymnastics? High box jumps probably aren't as much conditioning as they are strength. Range of motion. Jumping in a few different ways. Stamina playing a factor but not quite enough to drop intensity

FORMAT/MOVEMENT QUESTIONS

Is my technique good enough on clean and jerks to go heavy and fast?

Is my technique good enough to both a clean and a split jerk? (Or push perk)

Is my technique good enough to do a relatively low number of reps for each?

What is the limiting factor for making this a short, burner workout? Would it be a good idea to scale it to work on that limiting factor?

Do I allow a 1-2 step for a box jump?

60 power cleans

60 push press (or push jerk)

60 box jumps

*turn off the timer and go through for practice, split up reps however
