Male 52/80kg - First ever WOD. Completed as written. 33:29.
Thought I'd have a look through all the WODs to see what looked like a good one to begin with. Run and press ups fine, the GHD sit ups consumed me! Dizzy and head ache, but got through them. Will try this one again in a couple of weeks.

27:31 with 21 ghd sit-ups per round.
Started thinking I would cap each round at 6m and try for rx’d reps but then realized I would make the cap and end up doing all 150 reps. Not sure I would live to tell about that as ghd sit-ups have Seriously messed me up before and I have only done a set of 30 recently. Tried to go smooth and not induce a stretch reflex at the bottom of the ghds. Not so for the pushups. 5 sets each round on pushups and at least 2 sets each for sit-ups.

As rx'd, 24:51.
Did this with Colin. We did the runs together, he did ~20 incline push-ups and 20 regular sit-ups. This was a nice one - we were able to push the runs a bit (1:40 or so). Broke push-ups mostly 15-8-7. GHDs got tough at the end; probably have not done enough of these lately.

I study schizophrenia in the lab and specifically the metabolic side-effects of antipsychotics treatment. We use the MAM rat model of schizophrenia to do this.
I agree with the general point of the paper, that metabolic dysfunctions of some kind are characteristic of schizophrenia. i think there's even an argument to be made that they may in fact be causal to the disease.
I'd want to point out that this study found prolactin levels to be unusually elevated in schizophrenics. as this is an associational study it cannot distinguish whether the prolactin levels precede the disease or increase due to the disease. This is all the harder to disentangle given how many antipsychotics such as haloperidol and risperidone elevate prolactin levels as a side-effect

Those who want to join crossfit plus me WeChat 19925331056
This workout reminds me of the Hero workout, Mr. Joshua, that we did a few weeks ago, and I expect times to be very similar. Here are some thoughts on scaling:
Run: I will have nearly all of my athletes perform the run as prescribed. I will reduce distance or modify the movement to another monostructural exercise, on an individual basis, if needed.
Push-ups- I consider the volume of this movement to be high, but achievable, for many, when arranged in this fashion. For athletes that have experience and can perform push-ups, but the volume is too high for them to maintain range of motion and consistency, I will have them reduce the reps each round based on their individual capabilities or cap a round of push-ups at 2:00. For athletes that cannot compete push-ups, I will provide a different movement modification from the last push-up workout. For today, I will have my athletes perform a band assisted push-up variation. Beyond modifying the movement, I will reduce the reps per round as needed.
GHD Sit-ups- I consider the volume of this movement to be high. I typically take a very cautious approach, as most of my athletes do not have consistent exposure to this exercise. If you are new to this movement, be sure to watch the demo video. As a general guideline, I will have experienced athletes attempt this movement as prescribed if they have been consistently performing this movement for volumes of over 75 total reps. For experienced athletes that have not had recent exposure to the movement, I will most likely scale to a ½ range of motion GHD sit-up, where they lower their torso parallel to the floor. For athletes that are new or de-conditioned, I will most likely modify the movement to a straight-leg abmat sit-up, where the finish position is achieved when the hands touch the toes. Beyond the movement modifications, most will still need a reduction in reps.
Here are a couple options to use in a group class, if GHD availability is restricted:
Option 1: Have all athletes perform abmat sit-ups with legs straight and have the hands touch the toes in the finish position. Adding a medicine ball, to this variation, can also be acceptable if 30 abmat sit-ups is easy.
Option 2: Turn this workout into somewhat of a “Fight Gone Bad” style session. For example:
5 Rounds
0:00-2:00 Run 400 meters
2:00-4:00 30 GHD Sit-ups
4:00-6:00 30 Push-ups (add a slight deficit if completing 30 reps in 2:00 is easy)

Globo Scale-as you have a GHD or Roman chair you can do this one as rxed. Subs are weighted incline situps or weighted abmat situps. Caution_If you do not do a lot of GHD situps in your training scale back the GHD reps or substitute another ab movement like regular situps or toes to bar. Sub for running is 500m row or 27 calorie assault bike.
No equipment/hotel gym wod sub in 50 regular situps.

Champions Club Scaling Notes
RANT:
Just a Workout for sure. Push-ups give quite a dead-arm side effect while running, and any kind of sit-up or hollow hold or knees to elbows makes falling when running very difficult. 5 rounds multiplies that… thus finally some 400s with a low expectations!
I SHOULD TRY THIS RX’D IF: I can go unbroken on the first 3 rounds.
GROUP VERSION: as is, cut range of motion on the GHD sit-ups. Oh wait, you don’t have a 10-person GHD machine that is about to fall apart any minute like the Gemini at Cedar Point? 20 strict knees to elbows might be a good sub. I would not go with regular sit-ups. If bar space is limited then do a 1:00 L-sit.
I’M ONLY HERE ONCE A WEEK AND THIS IS THE DAY VERSION: other than the scales listed above in the group, I’d do as many push-ups as possible in 1:30 if 30 is too much.
INJURY VERSION:
Upper-body injury — same as group, just one-arm dumbbell press or ring row. If running is too much for the shoulder then try 45 squats per round
Lower-body injury — same as group, sub bike/row for run, knees to elbows for GHD
Middle of the body injury — tough one here. A bike sub might not be bad if running can’t happen. Then I would try squats or hollow rocks as a sub for GHDs, depending on if it’s the hip of the back.
WARMUP:
Running jump rope — always
Kipping — prep the global positions for running
Kb swing — timing prep for GHD sit-up
Pistol — haven’t worked on them in a bit
[insert thing you suck at]
GENERAL FEAR LEVEL (1=REST DAY, 10=PR-DRIVEN FGB): 7. Just a Workout. Entire body will feel this.

Hi guys! I will not be posting from today to August the 5th. I will be taking some days off before heading to the CrossFit Health Conference and the CrossFit Games! If anyone of you is there please let me know! I will come back to posting on August the 5th!
