Victoria Pegg weighed around 370 pounds at 24 years old. She worked a sedentary job and didn’t exercise at all, she says.
“I wanted a quick fix,” Pegg says of her desire to lose weight. “I did every fad diet you could get your hands on. Spent money left, right, and center, and none of it worked.”
Then she found Gritstone CrossFit in Manchester, U.K.
“I thought I was gonna die,” she says of her first CrossFit workouts. “I absolutely thought I was gonna die.”
Since starting CrossFit two years ago, Pegg has lost 168 pounds and even found a way to combine CrossFit with her dream of becoming a personal trainer.
“The reason why I wanted to become a personal trainer was to help other women that were in the same situation as me,” she says.
Pegg attended a CrossFit Level 1 Certificate Course at CrossFit ASG in Southport, U.K., in the hopes of making her dream a reality.
“I feel like I’ve absorbed — I’ve been like a giant sponge,” Pegg says just before she begins her Level 1 exam. “Yeah, I feel ready.”
