The CrossFit Kids Certificate Course is a live and interactive webinar that provides safe, effective, and age-appropriate methods for teaching CrossFit to children and adolescents, ages 3-17. The course also covers how to build a CrossFit Kids program at a school or affiliate.

Throughout the course, participants learn how to pair fitness with fun, which is essential to setting a child on the path toward a lifetime of fitness. Affiliate owners, teachers, coaches, and parents all benefit from learning this unique, kid-friendly approach to teaching CrossFit.

Inside the course

Through lecture and practical sessions, participants learn about CrossFit Kids training theory and methods as well as specific strategies for keeping fitness fun.

  • Lecture sessions provide CrossFit Kids training theory, methods, and coaching strategies.
  • Movement instruction is supported by videos with kids as demonstrators to exemplify kid-appropriate cueing and the best approaches to training kids.
  • Participants learn to identify sound movement mechanics and appropriate corrections for all ages.

  • The minimum requirement to train CrossFit Kids is a CF-OL1 or CF-L1 trainer credential. Attending the CrossFit Kids course (without a CF-OL1 or CF-L1 trainer credential) does not permit attendees to train CrossFit Kids.

  • The online Kids course is held on the Zoom platform. For the course, you will need the following:

      • Personal electronic device meeting Zoom system requirements, with camera, microphone, and active internet connection (laptop or tablet preferred)
      • The Zoom platform downloaded on your device
      • Your registration confirmation email
      • A government-issued photo ID
      • The CrossFit Kids Training Guide
      • The CrossFit Kids Startup Curriculum
      • Pen or pencil

    We also highly recommend familiarizing yourself with Zoom before joining the live webinar.

  • At this time, the online Kids Course is available in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. The course language for specific courses is indicated on the Courses Near You page and on the registration site.

  • Yes. CrossFit offers private course options that can be custom-designed. These courses can be scheduled upon request and, in the case of schools, can be hosted on site to allow a large number of staff to participate. The course can be specifically structured to focus on either the elementary/middle school or middle/high school levels to provide the most thorough and relevant information to address particular participant needs.
