The Level 1 Certificate Course offers expert instruction on the CrossFit methodology through two days of classroom instruction, small-group training sessions, and coach-led workouts. The Level 1 environment and all aspects of the course support all levels of athletes, from the absolute beginner to the more experienced.
In addition to our regularly scheduled CrossFit Level 1 and CrossFit Level 2 Courses, we also offer private CrossFit courses. Visit this page to learn how to host a private Level 1 or Level 2 for your organization.
For those who would like to pursue the Level 1 without the requirements of travel, we offer the Online Level 1, which can be taken from home. Click here to learn more about the Online Level 1.
Note: Effective April 1, 2025, the Level 1 test will be administered online post-course and will no longer be administered on-site at the end of Day 2 of the course. Click here to learn more.
Instruction includes lectures on foundational movements, the CrossFit methodology, nutrition, and programming.
Breakout sessions focus on improving individual participants’ mechanics while instructors engage participants in a dialogue that illuminates and reinforces effective coaching strategies.
Workouts provide examples of how to conduct a group class, hold a standard of proper mechanics when working at high intensity, and scale movements for any ability level.
