Following the 3/1 pattern places the RestDay on Monday not today. If there is a reason for this then I hope a CrossFit staff will send an email update.

I wonder if they’re resetting programming. I’ve recently started CrossFit again and have been following the main site for a little over a month and a half. A lot of 1 rep maxes for benchmark lifts have been completed in the past month. Or they’re changing format to a more consistent scheduling based on data since it looks like 3/1-2/1 which makes it consistent Mon-Sun. This is a format I liked to use when I coached and had to program the next program. This was usually 6-9 week program depending on what members needed to work on. Thurs were for form work, mobility, and stretching since most people will not do this on their own. Or maybe my speculations are completely wrong, lol.

It was just announced on CrossFit’s Instagram that Dave Castro is going to program Mainsite for the next two weeks starting tomorrow at 5pm. And after that they will be rotating in other guest Programmers.

I am very excited to see what Castro and these other “Guests” program! I really hope to see them in the comments section as well!

I'm excited for this but I hope it is training and not tests.

Is this the new mainsite "box pattern":

Thursday skills day with no programmed workout and Sunday off?

It would be nice to know why main site has been programming 2 on 1 off lately. Has there been a discovery that has lead to this? I feel like I read something in the Journal (way back) that 3 on 1 off had been proven or accepted as the “gold standard”.

M,T,W were all training days, with Th off (3/1 pattern).

Perhaps they are moving to 3/1 and 2/1 for the week to keep the rest days consistent.

Or maybe it’s a fluke. I’ve followed mainsite since 2013 and we’ve had 2/1 patterns before.

There's no rules . It's your body. Train 1 day on 1 day off . Train 5 days on 2 days off. 3 days on 1 off ... Train twice a day. Whatever works for you. Try different ways. It's all about what you're doing for recovery at the end of the day.

I think you are a day off for rest. Normally it's 3 days of work then rest. Thursday was a rest day. So by previous examples, Sunday should be the third day of work with Monday being a rest day. Thank you.

It isn’t always like that, just usually.

Look at the prior week. Thursday AND Sunday were both rest days.

I followed CrossFit since Greg Glassman had teamed up with CrossFitRX to get the scaled version. I haven't ever seen a 2/1. I appreciate the 3/1. Thank you for your efforts.
