Most athletes can attempt the split jerk sets. Experienced athletes can go as heavy as possible, while newer athletes can use this workout as an opportunity to drill the movement.

PR for new shoulder, and for my 40’s I think.

First set was push jerks because I didn’t read good. 1.5-2.5m rests. Heavier than last time and didn’t max out! Very little warmup besides mowing and blowing the yard:

20 close grip bench with empty bar+ 8more super slow with 95lbs. Then 5 slow Cuban rotations with empty barbell. Then a few power jerks to/from a pause with super slow eccentric at 95-115-135. Off jerk blocks today.

COORDINATION SCALE

Same format, lots more reps per set


ENDURANCE SCALE

Pick either burpees, sprint, or clean and jerks, your specific sport, or whatever else would get you a high intensity and preserve the general theme of max output followed by full recovery.


I DON'T HAVE A SQUAT RACK SCALE

AMRAP in 12 minutes of:

5 strict handstand push-ups

20 jumping lunges

Kept with sets of 5 at 155-165, and 17 years into this I still get surprised by how heavy of a breather it is

Globo wod: If you have bumpers and a barbell you're all set. Take from the rack if possible and hit it hard. If you are using iron plates today use a weight that you can bring down under control. Do heavy singles at the end but not a max. Dumbbells sub dumbbell split jerks 5-5-3-3-3-1-1-1-1. If you max the available dumbbells do AMRAP sets.
