The goal was not to quit, even with an injury leg--which I'm surprised it didn't really act up doing this strenuous workout. I'm humbled by Chad's strength. His family is in my prayers to remain strong and find comfort in the good memories.

As rx’d, 67:50.

Awful.  Wanted to quit somewhere around 300, as things were already pretty painful.  Legs obviously, but the vest made my back very tired as well.  I used a 40# pack with a 5# weight threaded through one of the straps.  At 300, I switched the 5# weight to the other side, as my back felt strained on the left side.  The discomfort hung around but fortunately did not get much worse through 500, 600, 700, etc.  Now, the goal is to make sure I hydrate and do everything I can to prevent any rhabdo – kidding (I hope).  This was a great test – haven’t wanted to quit a workout so strongly for quite some time.

RIP Chad

There's a small point about discussing suicide that's worth mentioning, and I'm hoping this community will personally adopt when talking about it.

One does not die *by suicide*, or any other *active* verbiage. It's not an *act of suicide*. One dies *from* suicide, just like one dies *from* cancer. No one who is of sound mind would do something like that, which means the mind is sick, or injured. Sick or injured enough that the body ends up dead. Just like your lungs are sick enough from cancer that the body eventually dies.

So the ask is: refer to suicide as something someone dies *from*.
