Macro view template analysis

Workouts Structure:

First day followed “as heavy as possible” template. This exercise was a single modality that includes 3 elements of heavy weightlifting movements. The purpose of the exercise was to perform the squats with heaviest resistance and increase their records. The amount of resistance should be progressively increased to reach their record. Strength played the major role in this WOD. Moreover, the phosphagen system was the dominant energy pathway in this program.

Second day was followed “AMRAP” template. This exercise was a couplet modality that combines of 2 movements from metabolic conditioning modality with a movement from gymnastic modality. The main purpose was to challenge the cardiorespiratory. Moreover, this method is improving the lactate tolerance and as a result reduces the drop power. Cardiorespiratory and stamina played the major role in this WOD. Moreover, the aerobic system was a dominant energy pathway in this program.

Third day was followed “For Time” template. This exercise was a couplet element that is combined of a moderate weightlifting movement with a moderate skill gymnastic movement. The biggest challenge of this program was high heart rate training. The training purpose was to improving the

stamina. This WOD was fire the shoulder and hip muscles because both movements challenge them. Stamina and strength played a major role in this WOD. Moreover, the lactic acid was dominant energy pathway in this program.

Conclusion

In this cycle:

  • The combinations of W; MG and WG have been used, respectively.
  • 8 movements were used.
  • Two couplet modality days were used in this cycle.
  • No triplet modality can be seen in this cycle.

Overall, all 3 energy pathways (phosphagen, lactic acid and aerobic) were challenged in this cycle.

Moreover, the strength was challenged for first WOD and the combination of cardiorespiratory and stamina were challenged for 2 other WODs in this circle of programming.

As a final note, “AHAP”, “AMRAP”, “For Time” templates were used for programming in this cycle.
