During the Open it is always helpful to read the workout descriptions and movement standards. There will always be a clear explanation of what is required for each movement. In this case, a muscle snatch, power snatch and squat snatch were all acceptable.
When programming for yourself or a box, it is really up to the programmer to determine what style they want for an intended stimulus.
